01

Map Your Financial Course

Whether retirement is decades away or right around the corner, we ask the right questions to define what success looks like to you. Then, we build a plan around it that's flexible, proactive, and uniquely yours.

02

Build On the Progress You've Made

Most clients come to us with a lot already in place: workplace plans, brokerage accounts, equity compensation, real estate, a business. We bring it into one coordinated plan, fill the gaps, and look for tax-conscious ways to put each piece to work toward your retirement goals.

03

Feel Prepared for What's Next

We'll help you fund your next passion project, prepare for rising costs, and confidently navigate your future with a plan and distribution options that flex with you.

Questions we get asked

Frequently asked questions

Who do you work with for retirement planning?

High-net-worth individuals and families, business owners, and executives, in La Jolla and San Diego and across the country, whether retirement is decades away or already here. Every client gets a plan built around their own goals, and we travel to our clients.

What does a retirement plan from Marine Street cover?

A written plan for when you can retire and how your income will work. It coordinates Social Security, pensions, deferred compensation, and portfolio withdrawals; the order and tax treatment of distributions across taxable, tax-deferred, and Roth accounts; concentrated stock and equity compensation; required minimum distributions; and how the plan holds up against rising costs and a long retirement. It is modeled in RightCapital, which you can view any time, and revisited as your life changes.

How do we get started?

With an introductory meeting. We use it to mutually determine whether our methodology, planning experience, and personalities are a match for you. There is no obligation.

What else does the planning relationship cover?

Retirement income and investments are the center of it, but the plan reaches the rest of your balance sheet: 401(k) distributions and rollovers, IRAs and Roth conversions, college savings, estate planning strategies in coordination with your attorney, insurance, and the sale or transition of a business. We coordinate with your CPA and attorney so the pieces work together rather than in isolation.
